Paul Westgate

Contract Biologist

Paul is an Applied Biology graduate who has worked in the urban pest control sector since 2001. Prior to this Paul worked as part of a field trails team working on novel pesticides.

During his career, Paul has worked for both small and large pest control service providers in a number of roles ranging from service technician, field biologist, technical account manager, business development and more. His passion for store product insects (SPIs) and the improvement of the pest control industry led him to create Veritas Pest Consultancy, a leading training provider, auditor and consultancy with specialisms in the
food production industry.

An active member on the British urban pest control sector, Paul has written articles for the trade press, delivered seminars at UK
trade events and is an active and dedicated trainer for both BPCA and BASIS. In 2021 Paul became an Executive Board Member of the BPCA and uses his position to help steer the industry towards a more professional and educated sector. Paul holds many qualifications (see below) and is passionate about professional, technical pest control and empowering pest professionals to upskill and deliver safer, more effective professional long-term pest control solutions.

Paul Hart

Technician

Paul started his career in pest management over 25 years ago and has built his skills and passion in providing exceptional pest management services. Starting out as a technician, he quickly developed into a senior technical role that involved specialisms in fumigation and bird control. Over the years he has managed a wide range of commercial contracts across varying industries which also included extensive bird proofing projects.

Paul joined Cibus because he wanted to focus on providing bespoke pest control services to factories within food factories. A sector that is complex and requires exceptional pest management to meet exacting standards required by their distributors.

When he’s not working, Paul enjoys travelling, rambling and playing or
repairing guitars.

Lee Clark

Technician

Lee began his pest-control career in 2012 with Rentokil, where he became a senior technician and a trainer due to his strong attention to detail and high-quality workmanship, which quickly set him apart. During his time there, he was awarded the Guild of Technicians Award several times and earned multiple awards for outstanding service, including a trip to Miami. His dedication to precision, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safe, effective treatments eventually led him to Westgate Pest Control, where he continued to apply his expertise, later becoming a field biologist for another large pest control company, which meant inspections at many audited sites, including many food manufacturers.

Before entering the pest-control industry, Lee spent many years as a Technical Assistant Manager in the horticultural sector at one of the largest glasshouse facilities in the UK. In this role, he oversaw pest control through logical and ethical practices with the use of chemical and biological control systems, managed beehives, and supported the growth and health of pepper plants—experience that strengthened his understanding of environmental balance, biological systems, and responsible pest management.

Outside of work, Lee loves to DJ and play guitar and enjoyed playing in a band for many years.

Today, Lee brings over a decade of hands-on experience and a deep passion for protecting businesses and the environment to every job he undertakes.

Richard Chew

Technician

Richard is a science graduate with 21 years of experience in the animal health industry, most recently as an auditor in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The pest control challenges he experienced in this role prompted him to seek further training with the BPCA and to join Cibus Pest Control.

Richard applies a risk‑based approach to work and believes strongly in applying a scientific approach to determine root causes and drive process improvements.

In his spare time, Richard takes part in endurance cycling events and enjoys Lego, DIY projects, music, and languages.
